From classical strategic network studies to the implementation of fully integrated Opti-Net™ solutions, the bulk of our work focuses on supply chain strategy, design and optimization topics. We are continuously looking for new ideas, approaches and concepts to improve on what we do, and adding Dr. Alan Saipe (Saipe and Associates) as a consulting associate of our firm clearly falls within this category.
Dr. Saipe has been involved with supply chain management for most of his working career – as a management consultant, an educator, and a line manager. He has consulted for more than 30 years with BearingPoint, formerly KPMG Consulting, and its predecessor companies, and now, as the Principal of Saipe & Associates. His portfolio of clients includes major corporations such as Grand & Toy, The Ottawa Hospital, Canadian Blood Services, Rothman Benson and Hedges, Kal Tire, Wolseley Canada, Industry Canada and Unilever.
His supply chain consulting experience began in 1978 when he joined Stevenson & Kellogg’s physical distribution practice. He has led and contributed to hundreds of client projects dealing with a wide range of strategic and operational matters in many industries. He led the logistics practices at Peat Marwick Stevenson & Kellogg and at KPMG Consulting. He formed Saipe & Associates in 2003 when he retired as a Managing Director from BearingPoint where he also led the Canadian supply chain logistics practice.
Dr. Saipe’s breadth and depth of strategic consulting experience in the supply chain field adds significant value to our supply chain design projects. His vast knowledge will complement and enhance our modeling and analytical skills and strengthen the conceptual thinking capabilities of our team.
